Agreement to Terms

unkwn42 is provided by UNKWN42 LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales with company number 17207152, whose registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom ("we", "us").

By accessing or using unkwn42, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the service.

Description of Service

Unkwn42 is a check that climate and earth science researchers run on a paper before they submit it: whether its main claim is already published, which earlier work it does not cite that a referee may expect, including work that uses different terminology, and whether its reference list has problems. We are in beta, and features may change without notice.

User Accounts

When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

Plans and Payments

unkwn42 is software you use online. Each email address can run one check of a paper free of charge, which shows part of the results. The full check of a paper is a single payment, at the price shown on the pricing page when you pay ($19 per paper). It unlocks every result of that check and re-checks of the same paper for 30 days from the payment. It is not a subscription and nothing renews.

An account also includes the Terminal and Reviewer 2 within the limits shown in your account. To keep the service fast for everyone, every account can run up to 20 of those in any 24 hours. If you reach that, the site tells you when your next one is available.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle's own buyer terms apply to your purchase.

If a paid check is not useful to you, you can have a full refund within 14 days of paying. The details are in our refund policy.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Use automated systems to access the service without permission
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation

Intellectual Property

The service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by UNKWN42 LTD and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Your search queries remain your own.

Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information provided. Research decisions should not be based solely on our analysis.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall UNKWN42 LTD be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the service.

Changes to Service

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the service.

Changes to Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. By continuing to use the service after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
